They should really call it the GREAT Arches National Park, I think it'd be better. Would you visit Canyon National Park? Probably not, but GRAND Canyon, that's another story...

Amit in front of the sign

IMG_6424
The famous Delicate Arch, found on the Utah license plate. I wasn't going to get this view since I didn't have the proper equipment, time, or courage to hike the 1.5 mile path partially covered in ice with some drop-offs.

IMG_6430
A view of the entrance to the park and highway

IMG_6434
Three Gossips formation looks like three gossips!

IMG_6436
Nice desert plants

IMG_6446
Balanced Rock is the size of 3 school buses

IMG_6451
Always good to give a helping hand to these fragile formations

IMG_6452

IMG_6453
The desert ecosystem has expanded to include candy/food wrappers!

IMG_6455
Friends from work taking photos

IMG_6465
Windows (not sure if it's North or South) formation from a distance near balanced rock

IMG_6468
Some other camera lost it's viewfinder out here - not a good place to be a stranded viewfinder

IMG_6471
People in national parks in the winter are more expressive than normal people

IMG_6475
Here's the closest I got to Delicate Arch, this is from near the parking lot and across the treacherous gravel (with lots of puddles and ice patches)

IMG_6480
Colorized view

IMG_6485
That's a rock!

IMG_6489
This is Skyline Arch, the area beneath doubled in the winter of 1940 after a giant part fell

IMG_6490
There was a nice path with nice people hiking back from the arch

IMG_6493
A few puddles, but better than freezing cold any day!

If I had discovered this arch this is the pose I would take as a momento of that momentus moment

IMG_6538
I imagine the surface of a glacier looks like this, but it's just some snow on the ground

IMG_6543
The nice people from the trail took our photo as we took theirs (poor lady was trying to balance her camera on a rock somewhere and run back for the photo)

IMG_6546

IMG_6547

IMG_6551
Psychadelic rocks

IMG_6562
Excellent stairs here

IMG_6566
I think this is South Window

IMG_6572
Turret and people

IMG_6575
A southern exposure at sunset is always fun, especially when crowds/other photographers are clogging up the light hitting the Turret arch

Very nice stairs to Turret arch at sunset
