As we did last year, GE Healthcare recruited for IMLP
Interns at Creighton University. Below are some photos of the Creighton campus and how it has changed in the last year along
with Omaha in general. |

J Rummel from the Department of IT at Creighton, Brandon Henak my fellow recruiter from GE, and Ed Austin also from Creighton's Dept IT

We ate at the Billy Blues Alumni Grill
in the HUGE new Mike & Josie Harper Center

Billy Blues' has a liquor license...on campus!

The auditorium is very spacious

Lots of construction still going on

The fountain near the Harper Center has tiles from the old art deco building that used to sit across from the Law School

IMG_3097
In the distance is Morrison Stadium

Opus Square is one of the newer residence halls at Creighton

IMG_3104
Wow...I'm not sure if students can say "Meet me on the Venteicher Mall"

IMG_3106

IMG_3108
The Harper Center is a REALLY big building

Some things remain the same - like the Admin...errr...I mean Creighton Hall

The squirrels of Creighton!

A new sculpture of a man sitting on an eagle sits on top of the entrance to St. John's

Next I went to visit my friends Daniel and Andrea as well as their daughter Aderyn. Here Aderyn is throwing
bread to the birds.

IMG_3174
They were supposed to throw it on the count of three but two was as far as Aderyn got before throwing her bread

IMG_3175
Aderyn looks at a ladybug that landed on her hand, later it dropped off and she accidentally stepped on it - poor
ladybug...

IMG_3178
Daniel works as a grassroots promoter of energy efficiency, he's letting the non-CFL blub on the left burn out before
he upgrades that

IMG_3179
We also visited the new J Robert Kerry Pedestrian
Bridge over the Missouri River, it's very fancy

IMG_3180

IMG_3187
A nice LED installation near the bridge, I think it's supposed to look like prarie grass

IMG_3189

IMG_3190
There's Iowa just across the river!

IMG_3192
And the Qwest Center just behind the bridge

Aderyn, Andrea, and Daniel

IMG_3207
You can see St. Cecelia's in the background with two towers, and to the left of that Creighton's....Creighton Hall dimly lit

IMG_3210
The National Parks office for the region is on the Nebraska side of the bridge and is evidently a very green/LEED certified building

Aderyn emerges from a teepee

IMG_3259
One of the pillars of the suspension bridge reflected in the National Park building, I was waiting for it to turn green since it was cycling
through the colors quite fast when we arrived but as we left it was purple for at least 5-10 minutes. The one near the Iowa side
was still cycling though...

IMG_3283

IMG_3291
Aderyn says goodnight to Daniel

IMG_3294
An evil cursed cat!

IMG_3296
Daniel loves power efficiency so he has this fancy meter that shows by the color of the LED on top if it's peak, medium, or off-peak
energy time and by the speed the LED lights in the arc across the top how much energy the house is consuming. He's installed
geothermal heating in his house

IMG_3301
Another evil cat...

An ad for Siemens Medical Systems at O'Hare...I'm sure they don't have the answers!
