|On Sunday, July 20th Lake Park Lutheran Church in Milwaukee held it's annual Worship and Cookout in Lake Park.
Since Daniel and I were on the planning committee we'd been preparing for a while and it was satisfying to see that the
paper lanterns ordered actually had a use! The turnout was good and everybody had a great time participating in worship in
the beautiful outdoor setting, enjoying good food, an auction of Last Supper kitch, and a balloon toss/fight. I've also
included some general photos from the church itself from a recent Sunday.
What a cool mini sweeper for park sidewalks!
People even brought fanciful hats to our cookout
Pastor David worked the Last Supper kitch auction items in the children's sermon - it's all about
Lots of good food was cooking...
And decorations were o'erhead
Pastor David also wore the Last Supper neck tie during his sermon
Kids love to mime grown-ups, probably like our own miming of the actions of Jesus...

A nice-sized group - and that was before they gorged themselves on the food!
We had the park a rockin'
These were very good veggie burgers - but still just veggie burgers :)
Daniel leads the auction to raise money for the food pantry of our partner church in Milwaukee
Lisa and Joe can work together on the "Sno Kone" machine to show the children cooperation
...or so we hoped (Lisa is sticking ice down Joe's shirt)
Erica selflessly offers her baloons to others
Next, it was time for the kid toss - I mean the BALOON toss!
Yes, baloons are much more fun
Twice as much fun with an infant in tow!
Even with a good catch, baloon tossing technique can be a demanding sport
RUN Pastor David!
Proud auction winners...
